Shaquille O’Neal finally accepts lawsuit papers after refusing to accept them

Shaquille O’Neal has finally accepted the official court papers in connection to a lawsuit he recently faced.

The NBA legend was served the lawsuit late last month by an investment group in California and had refused to accept it. According to ESPN, the group is represented by Los Angeles-based attorney Michael Avenatti and is suing O’Neal for breach of contract, negligence, and fraud.

The suit claims that O’Neal agreed to pay the group $2.5 million for giving him strategic advice and marketing services in the early 2000s, but never made any payments.

In response to the suit, O’Neal’s lawyer, Alan Isaacman, said that the basketball player never agreed to any of the terms mentioned in the lawsuit and would deal with it accordingly.

Just this week, O’Neal accepted the papers, which began the formal process of responding to the allegations.

The case will now go in front of a judge to decide the next moves for both parties.
