The wait is finally over. Disney has found someone worty of replacing Wesley Snipes. that someone is Mahershala Ali and I couldn’t agree more. I can actually see him as the new blade. Blade is one of my all time favorite Marvel Characters.
Ali recently played in Netflix TV series, Luke Cage as Cornell stokes aka Cottonmouth. A drug lord in New York. Cottonmouth has super-strength that rivals Luke Cage. He was at some point arrested and imprisoned in Ryker’s Island.
Mashershala did an interview with Vulture back in 2016 and spoke abput how he always wanted to play a Marvel character. This would be his second Marvel debut.
“I’d always wanted to do a Marvel project and I’d always imagined getting to play one of the superheroes because it’s such a hard thing to get. It’s the parts that only go to a few people. The flip side of that is the antagonists are pretty awesome. So when I was offered that, I was really excited.”
Wesley snipes has given he’s 100 percent support of Maahershala Ali and had this to say to all of his DAYWALKER fans.
“To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx,” said Snipes in a statement to TheWrap. “Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL GOOD. Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew — always a fan. Honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come. Inshallah, we will someday work together.”
